The phrase "If you're happy and you know it, scratch your fur," has an illustration of a monkey and other jungle animals scratching themselves, and next comes, "If you're happy and you know it, give a roar," which shows a lion and other jungle animals roaring. A boy and girl are seen on each page, doing the same things the animals do. This goes on until their mother tells them that it's time to leave what looks like a park in the jungle. The animals and kids are playing on slides and swings as they do all the actions. The last pages feature a repeat of the verses, along with an added verse, "If you're happy and you know it, do all ten." The large watercolor illustrations are colorful and fun. Preschool children should enjoy the verses and the pictures of the animals. All of the verses provide actions that are simple and would be fun for kids to do. Hardcover measures 9.25" x 11.5"
